Denise Norton

Denise Norton was born in New Zealand, where she studied music and dance. She gained her first professional experience at the New Zealand Opera company in productions such as La Bohème, »Die Hochzeit des Figaro«, »La Traviata« and »Die verkaufte Braut«. In addition, she appeared in several film productions and gave several concerts.

1984 Denise Norton went to London after a successfully touring with Evita through New Zealand, Australia and Hawaii. There she continued her singing and acting studies at "The Royal School of music" and "The Actors Center".

1985 she discovered Europe on another musical tour: »Jesus Christ Superstar«. After that she became part of the original cast of »Cats« in Hamburg (Bombalorina, Demeter, Cassandra, Jellylorum). A short time later she went to New York and performed in many jazz clubs. Since she's back in Germany, she was engaged at various theatres, e.g. the Theater des Westens for "Sweet Charity" and "UFA Revue».

«In Darryl Robinson's touring productions of »musical classics« and "The highlights of Andrew Lloyd Webber" she played the leas and most recently she was playing the fairy in the germ. production of »Die Schöne und das Biest«.

After a master class in 2003 with Harold Prince in Berlin, Denise received a personal praise for her innovative Sondheim interpretations. Her first solo CD »Never Say Goodbye« she produced in 1999 and 2006 »Whispering Sands« was relesed.

Most recently she was starring in the musicals ABBA and Shakespeare's Musical Comedy at the Estrel in Berlin. Now she has a new show prepared for you, that is called “A Taste of Broadway” and consists of two, 45 minute long blocks and have already been successfully tested on stage in different theatres..
