Education:
Pablo was born in 1951 in Santiago/Chile geboren. Already in his early childhood he showed to be a musical prodigy: at the age of five, he already played accordion publicly, later also the guitar, Pan flutes and contrabass. By now he has mastered all typical South American instruments, like e. g. Charango, Cuatro, Andian flutes a. o. Numerous concerts led Pablo through South America, Europa und China.
Numerous recordings document his incredible versatility: Folklore, Samba, Salsa, Cumbia, Merengue … Pablo is at home in all these areas. You can listen to some samples below.
On numerous other albums Pablo contributed as a guest musician with andean flutes, guitar, bass, harp, percussion and other instruments.
ACONCAGUA is the name for a project, that the talented and versatile musicians Pablo Cárcamo has been planning on for many years. Since more than 20 years he is familiar with the music of the Andes and plays all instruments from the Kena to the pan flute, and from the Charango to the Bombo and many more.
His virtuosity has increased over the years, and you can call him one of the great masters of music of the Indians of South America today. His knowledge of the various Indian dialects, Aymara and Ketchua, his experience as a producer of many South American groups, among which are Alpamayo, Ukamau and Joel F. Perri, his skills for clear arrangements, that does not distort the original character of the title but underline it, have made Aconcagua a work of exceptional quality and fascination .
Aconcagua includes songs and melodies from Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador and offers the whole range of different Indian flutes. At the same time this recording presents an enormous versatility and variety due to the differences of various cultures and the constant change of the instruments.
