Pablo Cárcamo

Pablo was born in Santiago/Chile. He comes from a family of artists, e.g. the Chilean poet Pablo Neruda is his cousin. Pablo plays all typical South American instruments, like e.g. the Charango, Kena, Cuátro, different types of Andean flutes; small to 1,60 m long and all South American percussions. He is also a fantastic singer, Entertainer and composer. Pablo gave numerous concerts through South America, Europe and Asia. Pablo played at the invitation of the King of Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur. Pablo is an expert on South American music par excellence. Numerous CD productions with diverse groups, e.g. Hossam Ramzy or Enrique Ugarte, document its incredible versatility in the South American, but also the Caribbean and Spanish music. He accompanied Freddy Quinn on a tour of American music. As a guitarist of the legendary group LOS LATINOS he celebrated great successes in the 80s. His concerts ,Anaconda ” and „El Camino des Indio” tell of the native American music and mythology with the associated instruments.

ACONCAGUA is the name for a project, that the talented and versatile musicians Pablo Cárcamo has been planning on for many years. Since more than 20 years he is familiar with the music of the Andes and plays all instruments from the Kena to the pan flute, and from the Charango to the Bombo and many more.

His virtuosity has increased over the years, and you can call him one of the great masters of music of the Indians of South America today. His knowledge of the various Indian dialects, Aymara and Ketchua, his experience as a producer of many South American groups, among which are Alpamayo, Ukamau and Joel F. Perri, his skills for clear arrangements, that does not distort the original character of the title but underline it, have made Aconcagua a work of exceptional quality and fascination .
Aconcagua includes songs and melodies from Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador and offers the whole range of different Indian flutes. At the same time this recording presents an enormous versatility and variety due to the differences of various cultures and the constant change of the instruments.

Pan flutes: Zampona, Rondador, Zancas (very long pan flute).
